Configure KCA to use LCS

This section helps you to configure the KCA test delivery engine to use a LCS set up in your network.

  1. Open the KCA Preferences program.
  2. Select the "Local Caching Server" menu.
  3. Check "Enable Local Caching Server Configuration" and add the IP and port where the LCS is listening.
  4. Click "Apply".
  5. Select the "Troubleshoot" menu and click on "Run Tests" to verify that the system is able to connect to the LCS.
  6. If the system is not able to connect to the LCS make sure that the LCS is running. Use the LCS Monitoring tool to check if the LCS is running. Also make sure that your computers are able to find the LCS in your network using the IP and port entered in step 3.
  7. Click Ok.

Once your KCA test delivery engine is properly configured to use the LCS, take any of the practice tests available and use the statistics in the LCS Monitoring tool to verify that practice tests are downloaded from the LCS.

To enable the speech feature follow these steps:

  • Select the "Speech Settings" tab.
  • Enable the speech feature by selecting the speech check box and saving changes.
  • Please be aware that the speech feature is not available for all tests. Contact your test coordinator for more information.
